To calculate your APS (Admission Point Score) for the University of Johannesburg (UJ), you need to assign the points based on the percentage that you achieved in each subject (grade 11or Grade 12). Here’s how to calculate the APS score:

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Choose your top 6 subjects: Exclude Life Orientation, but include the results of your home language.
  2. Assign APS points: Based on the table above, for each subject.
  3. Total the points: Now add the points of your top 6 subjects.

For example:

  • English (Home Language) – 65%: 5 points
  • Maths – 55%: 4 points
  • Physical Sciences – 72%: 6 points
  • Life Sciences – 68%: 5 points
  • Geography – 45%: 3 points
  • History – 81%: 7 points

You would add the points (5 + 4 + 6 + 5 + 3 + 7) = 30 APS points.
