- Choose your top 6 subjects: Exclude Life Orientation, but include the results of your home language.
- Assign APS points: Based on the table above, for each subject.
- Total the points: Now add the points of your top 6 subjects.
For example:
- English (Home Language) – 65%: 5 points
- Maths – 55%: 4 points
- Physical Sciences – 72%: 6 points
- Life Sciences – 68%: 5 points
- Geography – 45%: 3 points
- History – 81%: 7 points
You would add the points (5 + 4 + 6 + 5 + 3 + 7) = 30 APS points.
