Requirements for NIMT Full-Time Courses
To enrol in a full-time course at NIMT, the following general requirements must be met:
- Minimum Education: A Grade 10 certificate or equivalent qualification is usually required for entry into the majority of trades.
- English Literacy: Applicants must be proficient in English to follow the course material and complete practical tasks.
- Evaluation Test: Some courses may require an evaluation test to assess the student’s trainability.
Requirements for Special Training and Skills Upgrading
NIMT also offers skills upgrading for employees in various industries. This type of training is aimed at individuals who already have some experience but want to improve or gain new skills.
Key requirements for skills upgrading:
- Must be employed, as this training is only available through employers.
- Minimum of three years of uninterrupted work experience (a service record from the employer is needed).

- Grade 6 minimum education requirement.
