One important factor students must consider is that Maths Literacy is not accepted in many Radiography courses offered. Universities prefer pure Mathematics over Mathematical Literacy for these types of courses.

Bachelor of Diagnostic Radiography at UJ

Below are the requirements for Radiography studies at the University of Johannesburg:

Minimum APS: 31 (Life Orientation excluded when calculating APS)

National Senior Certificate Requirements:

  • Language of Teaching and Learning (English): Level 5
  • Mathematics: Level 4
  • Mathematical Literacy: Not accepted
  • Physical Sciences: Level 4
  • Life Sciences: Level 5

Bachelor of Health Sciences in Diagnostic Radiography at DUT

Below are the requirements for Radiography studies at Durban University of Technology:

  • Age: Minimum 18 years by December 2022
  • Physical Fitness: Required
  • Mathematics: 50%
  • Physical Sciences: 50%
  • Life Sciences: 50%
  • English: 50%

Below are the requirements for Radiography studies at University of Pretoria:

  • English Home Language or First Additional Language: Level 4
  • Mathematics: Level 4
  • Physical Sciences: Level 4
  • APS: 30

Below are the requirements for Radiography studies at Central University of Technology:

  • Life Sciences: 50%
  • Physical Science: 50%
  • Mathematics: 50%
  • M-score: 30 points on the CUT scoring scale
