The University of Venda offers two types of undergraduate teaching courses, which are Bachelor of Education in Senior Phase and Further Education and Training, and Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching. Both courses take 4 years to complete.
Bachelor of Education in Senior Phase and Further Education and Training (SEBESP / SEBECP / SEBELP)
- Duration: 4 Years
- Requirements:
- English (50%) plus any two subjects with a minimum of 50% from the following groups:
- Group 1: Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences
- Group 2: Accounting, Business Studies, Economics
- Group 3: History, Geography, Sepedi, Tshivenda, Xitsonga, Siswati, Isindebele
- English (50%) plus any two subjects with a minimum of 50% from the following groups:
Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching (SEBEFP)
- Duration: 4 Years
- Requirements:
- National Senior Certificate (NSC):
- Bachelor pass with a minimum APS of 36 points.
- Minimum 50% in English for Grade 12.
- OR, candidates with Early Childhood Development (ECD) experience (certificate or work experience) must also have a minimum of 50% in English.
- Old Senior Certificate (Matric):
- Exemption with an average symbol D (Standard Grade) or E (Higher Grade) in English.
- OR, candidates with ECD experience (certificate or work experience) must have a minimum of 50% in English.
- National Senior Certificate (NSC):
